On histopathological evaluation, the immunosuppressive treatment improved the fibrosis scores, with an arrest in its progression and no development into cirrhosis. Fibrosis control is mainly associated with regression of necroinflammatory activity, which is the main treatment component in autoimmune hepatitis.
