Continuous generation of hierarchical and asymmetric bijels based on solvent-transfer-induced phase separation (STRIPS) is demonstrated. In STRIPS, phase separation is induced by solvent extraction from an initially homogeneous ternary mixture, and bicontinuous morphology is stabilized by interfacial attachment of nanoparticles, which are functionalized in situ. STRIPS allows stable bijel formation from a wide variety of liquids and particles. As a service to our authors and readers, this journal provides supporting information supplied by the authors.
