Summary A method for preparing 99mTc-macroaggregated ferrous hydroxide (Tc-MAFH) has been described. Tc-MAFH is easy to prepare and possesses adequate radiochemical stability. The majority of the labeled macroaggregates lie in the optimal range of 20–50 microns. This radiopharmaceutical enables the superior physical properties of 99mTc to be more effectively used in lung perfusion studies.
