Abstract

Abstract Copolymers of diallyldimethylammonium chloride and sulfur dioxide were prepared. The copolymerization was carried out in dimethylsulfoxide, methanol or acetone using radical initiators. The effect of the polymerization conditions on the yields and the molecular weight was studied. The structure of the water‐soluble polysulfones obtained was studied by means of IR spectroscopy and elementary analysis. The properties of the copolymers were investigated.
