The design and construction of a semiautomatic machine for milking mice are described. A procedure for its operation is reported. The apparatus was run by a regulated and constant vacuum of 10 cm Hg applied to specially designed, molded silicone rubber teat cups. The mouse was placed in a plastic holder during the milking process. Approximately 1 ml of milk per milking was obtained from each mouse.
