Abstract

Summary Fragments of spleen, bone marrow, liver, thymus and lymph nodes of rabbits immunized with paratyphoid B vaccine were cultivated in roller tubes for 24 hours. Antibody production was demonstrated in the red and white pulp of the spleen, and in the bone marrow and lymph nodes, but in cultures of thymus and liver no antibody production was found. With the technique used, the red pulp of the spleen was found to play the major part in antibody formation, both after subcutaneous and after intravenous immunization.
