IN VITRO DETECTION OF TUBERCULIN HYPERSENSITIVITY IN MAN

Abstract

Abstract The influence of purified protein derivative of tuberculin (PPD) upon the in vitro migration of peripheral leucocytes from persons with positive and negative intracutaneous tuberculin reactions has been investigated. An inhibition is seen with leucocytes from Mantoux‐positive persons, whereas no inhibition is seen with leucocytes from Mantoux‐negative persons. The migration indices are well correlated to the degree of the intracutaneous reactions in mm.
