Optical study of Eu³⁺centres in CdF₂

Abstract

Using selective dye laser excitation, five main Eu3+ centres, among about twenty, have been isolated in CdF2. A tentative of characterisation of the centres is presented with, in particular, a C2v centre and a distant compensated cubic centre.
