A time-resolved laser resonance experiment is presented in which the B 2Π+ states of the CaBr, CaCl and SrCl monohalides are reinvestigated by means of the delayed coincidence method. The lifetimes measured for CaCl and CaBr differ compared to results found in the literature. The following lifetimes were obtained or the B 2Π+ states: CaCl 44·8 ± 0·9 ns, CaBr 48·9 ± 0·9 ns and SrCl 39·6 ± 1·6 ns, where the uncertainties representing one standard deviation are given.
