The IHS (Intensity-Hue-Saturation) color display transform is a technique for combining diverse data with radar data to provide color imagery suitable for qualitative and quantitative analysis. The integration of radar with other data types is discussed under four major themes: integration of radar with other remotely sensed data, aiborne geophysical data, thematic data, and data extracted from multiple radar images. Examples of IHS transformed images for each theme listed above are presented and discussed with a view to their application to various Earth science disciplines, particularly geology and sea ice
