Abstract

Summary The pathologic characteristics of the amelanotic and melanotic variants of the transplanted melanoma of hamsters (Fortner) are described. Outstanding differences between the two variants are the more rapid growth and invasiveness of the nonpigmented strain. Similarities between the Cloudman S91 tumor and the melanotic melanoma are pointed out.
