Experimental studies, which included the production of chronic pancreatitis in animals and sensitization of animals to injected pancreatic extracts, clearly showed that antibodies to isologous pancreas were present in the sera of these animals.2We were then able to show in a preliminary study that the sera of patients with chronic pancreatic disease and carcinoma of the pancreas contained iso-antibodies specific to human pancreas.2Auto-antibodies to human pancreas have also been detected.3The present study is...Bibliography1.
