Structure of the Perrhenate Ion

Abstract

Raman and infrared spectra have been obtained for aqueous solutions of perrhenic acid and sodium perrhenate. The spectra are interpreted satisfactorily with the assumption that the perrhenate ion in dilute solutions is ReO4— and has tetrahedral symmetry.
