Abstract Highly reactive antimony, prepared by the NaBH4 reduction of SbCl3, induced allylation of aldehydes with allylic bromide in DMF/H2O solvent to give good yields of the corresponding homoallylic alcohols with high regio- and chemo- selectivity.
