Many linear motor configurations are potentially applicable to linear compressors.Problems associated \Vith some of these are discussed Properties of, and ex-perimental data relating to a particular configuration that has proven itself in many applications are presented Two methods of linear compressor control that have been successfully applied are described.Refrigeration systems that can use the flow rate modulation capability of a linear compressor advantageously are briefly discussed.
