H/sub ∞/ compensator design with minimal order observers

Abstract

A method based on a bounded real lemma is presented in the form of sufficient conditions for designing observer-based proper reduced-order H/sub /spl infin// compensators. The proposed compensators are shown to include the strictly proper full-order central H/sub /spl infin// compensators as a special class.
