Abstract

In fall 1986, Lehigh University initiated a campuswide network, creating an integrated electronic workplace for users. Through the capabilities of this network, a broader range of library services is available to the university com munity. Network reference services include electronic question negotiation, online searching applications, and uploaded bibliographic files. The growth of Lehigh's elec tronic network demonstrates enhanced efficiency and communication between patrons and librarians. Future plans for expanding reference services on the network will increase the user base and extend Lehigh's abilities as a ''wired university.
