Beam-Foil Study of the 2<i>s</i><sup>2</sup>2<i>p</i><sup>5</sup>3/ and 2<i>s</i>2<i>p</i><sup>6</sup>3/ Configurations of ArIX

The spectrum of Ar IX has been observed in the 450-900 A wavelength range. A total of 36 lines has been measured. Thirty of them have been classified as transitions between the 2s22p5 3s, 3p and 3d configurations and six other lines have been ascribed to the 2s2p6 3l configurations. Energy levels of the 2s22p5 3l configurations have been deduced. These identifications have been supported by an isoelectronic comparison. Three mean lives have been measured.
