A CrystallographicInvestigation of a Human IgG Immunoglobulin"antigenic type ( = y1 chains). With solutions containing either 0.2 or 10 mg of Meg protein per ml, a molecular weight of 145,000 was obtained by the sedimentation equilibrium method of Yphantis (9).At the same protein concentrations the sedimentation coefficients were 6.53 S and 6.68 S, respectively. These values are low in comparison to the usual range (6.6 to 7.2 S, mol wt 150,000 to 160,000) reported for human IgG proteins (10).
