Due to recent advances, the authors state that this text is the most profound revision since the first edition, which appeared in 1865. This complete reference book covers the manufacturing, standardizing, and dispensing of pharmaceutical products. The biological and chemical properties as well as tests for purity, assays, uses, and doses of pharmaceutical products are included. This edition includes the compounds in "United States Pharmacopeia" (15th edition), "National Formulary" (10th edition), and "New and Nonofficial Remedies—1955." A comprehensive index adds materially to the usefulness of this book as a ready reference. This should be a fine reference book for pharmacists, physicians, and others associated with the drug field.
