Abstract

This beautiful monograph is a masterly description of the experience of the senior author with the tumors of the meninges. After an account of their pathology and an enumeration of the cases, various types are discussed in particular situations in the cranial and spinal cavities with illustrative histories. The latter are often interesting and dramatic. It is difficult to imagine a more thrilling story than that of the two cases in chapter xxxi. The experiences recounted will long be an inspiration to every surgeon who attempts to remove these tumors. The book is beautifully printed in a clear new type which makes it easy to read. It concludes with a record of the operative mortality, which has been reduced to 8.9 per cent.
