Peter Hall pvhall@fes.uwaterloo.ca is an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Waterloo, where he also is Director of the Local Economic Development Program. His research addresses the economic development role of seaports, airports, and other public institutions, as well as employment and local wage policies. Before commencing his doctoral studies at the University of California at Berkeley, he worked in the Economic Development Unit of the Durban Metropolitan Council.
