Abstract : In an attempt to obtain a product more closely approaching the state of glycogen in intact animal tissues, a procedure for the extraction of this polysaccharide is described. This procedure is designed to avoid physical and chemical alteration by strong alkali, acid, or high temperature and distortion of the molecular weight spectrum resulting from selective losses during sedimentation.
