Zwitterionic Surfaces

Zwitterionic Surfaces is a class of biofouling-resistant material interfaces characterized by the presence of molecular moieties that simultaneously bear equal numbers of permanently charged positive and negative groups, resulting in a net-neutral yet highly hydrophilic surface that resists protein adsorption and microbial adhesion through strong hydration layer formation.
