Zintl Clusters

Zintl Clusters is a class of polyanionic, deltahedral molecular aggregates composed of post-transition metals or metalloids that formally satisfy the octet rule through interatomic covalent bonding, distinguished from other cluster compounds by their formation via reduction of elemental precursors in liquid ammonia or similar media and their structural analogy to boranes.
