Wingtip Vortices

Wingtip Vortices is a fluid dynamic phenomenon characterized by the formation of concentrated trailing vortices at the tips of a finite wing, resulting from the spanwise variation in lift distribution and the subsequent roll-up of the separated shear layers into spiral structures that induce downwash and contribute to induced drag.
