Wind-Driven Exchange Flow is a type of estuarine exchange flow in which the differential advection of water masses across the estuary mouth is primarily forced by wind stress acting on the surface layer, thereby generating a vertical and horizontal exchange pattern distinct from density-driven or tidal rectification mechanisms.
