Wind Extremes Frequency Analysis is a statistical methodology within wind climate analysis that characterizes the recurrence and magnitude of rare, high-intensity wind events by modeling the frequency distribution of extreme wind speeds using probabilistic techniques such as the Generalized Extreme Value theory or peak-over-threshold methods.
