Well Integrity

Well integrity is a multidisciplinary academic concept and engineering field focused on the state of a wellbore's containment system and the practices required to maintain it throughout its operational life and beyond. It investigates the design, construction, operational performance, monitoring, and long-term management of well barriers to ensure safe and environmentally responsible containment of subsurface fluids and gases, preventing uncontrolled release or cross-flow between formations.
