Web Notifications is a client-side messaging mechanism in asynchronous web communication that enables web applications to deliver timely, out-of-band alerts to users even when the application is not in focus, distinguished from other notification systems by its reliance on push services and service workers for cross-platform, permission-controlled delivery.
