Wave-boundary Layer Interaction

Wave-Boundary Layer Interaction is a physical fluid dynamics phenomenon in coastal boundary layer studies characterized by the mutual influence between surface gravity waves and the near-bed turbulent boundary layer, wherein wave-induced oscillatory motions alter boundary layer structure and sediment transport processes, while the boundary layer, in turn, modulates wave attenuation and energy dissipation.
