Wave Orbital Motion

Wave Orbital Motion is a kinematic construct in fluid dynamics that describes the closed, elliptical or circular trajectories traced by fluid particles beneath a propagating linear surface gravity wave, distinguishing it from other wave-induced motions by its periodic, non-translational character and its dependence on wave frequency and water depth.
