Warfarin Resistance

Warfarin Resistance is a genetic-based insensitivity to the anticoagulant effects of warfarin in rodents, wherein affected individuals possess mutations in the vitamin K epoxide reductase complex subunit 1 (VKORC1) gene that diminish warfarin’s inhibitory action, thus preventing lethal hemorrhage despite exposure.
