Wake Effects
Wake Effects is a hydrodynamic phenomenon characterized by the alteration of fluid flow downstream of a marine energy device, resulting from momentum extraction and turbulence generation, which distinguishes it from other flow interactions by specifically describing the reduced energy availability and increased unsteadiness experienced by trailing devices in offshore wind, tidal, and wave energy arrays.
