Void Reactivity Feedback

Void Reactivity Feedback is a nuclear reactor physics phenomenon, belonging to the class of reactivity feedback mechanisms, wherein changes in the density of coolant or moderator—specifically the formation or collapse of vapor voids—affect the neutron multiplication properties of the core, thereby altering the reactor’s effective multiplication factor.
