Upf1 Phosphorylation
Upf1 Phosphorylation is a post-translational modification in which the Upf1 protein, a central effector of the nonsense-mediated mRNA decay pathway, undergoes phosphorylation primarily at conserved serine and threonine residues by the kinase SMG1, thereby triggering mRNA degradation through the recruitment of downstream decay factors.
