Typological Reading

Typological Reading is an interpretive methodology within allegorical literature that identifies and analyzes symbolic correspondences between persons, events, or institutions in a narrative and their prophetic or spiritual antetypes, particularly as derived from biblical exegesis, thereby revealing deeper theological or moral meanings through the lens of typology.
