Twelve-tone Variations

Twelve-Tone Variations is a compositional method within the twelve-tone technique that systematically manipulates a fixed series of all twelve chromatic pitches through ordered transformations—such as transposition, inversion, retrograde, and retrograde inversion—thereby generating structurally unified melodic and harmonic material while preserving the integrity of the original tone row.
