Trophic Cascade Strength is a quantitative metric that measures the magnitude of indirect effects propagated through a food web as a result of changes in the abundance or activity of apex predators, distinguishing it from other ecosystem-level metrics by specifically capturing the intensity of top-down control across trophic levels.
