Triangular Trade

Triangular trade is a historical economic concept describing a multi-leg trade system connecting three distinct geographic regions, characterized by the exchange of diverse commodities and, crucially, the forced transport of enslaved peoples. As a research concept, it is employed across disciplines such as economic history, history, and sociology to investigate the complex dynamics of global commerce, colonialism, and power relations during specific historical periods, analyzing the flow of goods, capital, and labor, and assessing its profound and lasting impact on the demographic, economic, and social structures of the involved continents.
