Transitional Cinema

Transitional Cinema is a historical periodization within film studies that designates the phase of American cinema from the late 1910s to the early 1930s, distinguished by the institutionalization of classical narrative norms, the shift from silent to synchronized sound film, and the consolidation of the studio system, thereby marking the transformation from early to classical Hollywood cinema.
