Transformation-induced Plasticity

Transformation-Induced Plasticity is a strengthening mechanism in which the plastic deformation of a material is enhanced by the stress-induced phase transformation of metastable phases, distinguished from other mechanisms by the concurrent generation of plastic strain due to volumetric and shear contributions associated with the transformation process.
