Tip Removal
Tip Removal is a computational preprocessing step in genome assembly algorithms, particularly within De Bruijn Graph and String Graph frameworks, that identifies and eliminates short, spurious branches—arising from sequencing errors or low-coverage regions—from the assembly graph to improve contiguity and accuracy of the reconstructed sequence.
