Tile Maps
Tile Maps is a categorical data visualization technique that partitions a geographic region into contiguous, non-overlapping tiles—typically of equal size or normalized area—where each tile is shaded or colored according to the value of a categorical variable, enabling the spatial distribution of categorical data to be visually analyzed with uniform emphasis on geographic location.
