Thixotropy
Thixotropy is a time-dependent shear thinning phenomenon in which a non-Newtonian fluid exhibits a reversible decrease in viscosity under applied shear stress over time, followed by a gradual recovery of its original viscosity when the shear stress is removed, characteristic of certain complex fluids such as suspensions, emulsions, pastes, and yield stress materials.
