Thin-torus Limit

The "Thin-Torus Limit" is a theoretical limiting case in quantum Hall physics where the toroidal geometry of the system is adiabatically deformed such that one circumferential direction becomes infinitely narrow, reducing the many-body eigenstates to strictly localized, charge-density-wave-like configurations that reveal the underlying topological and modular structure of quantum Hall states.
