Thermal Runaway

Thermal Runaway is a chemical reactivity hazard characterized by an uncontrollable self-accelerating exothermic reaction process in which the rate of internal heat generation exceeds the system's heat dissipation capacity, leading to progressively increasing temperature and pressure that can result in fire, explosion, or vessel rupture.
