Thalamocortical Synchronization
Thalamocortical Synchronization is a neurophysiological phenomenon characterized by the coordinated oscillatory activity between thalamic and cortical neurons, whereby rhythmic firing patterns in the thalamus temporally align with those in the cerebral cortex to facilitate integrated information processing, distinguishing it from other forms of neural synchronization by its specific anatomical and functional circuitry within the thalamocortical system.
