Tetrel Bonding

Tetrel Bonding is a noncovalent interaction in which an electrophilic σ-hole located on a group 14 (tetrel) atom engages with a nucleophilic region of a neighboring molecule, distinguished by the involvement of tetrel elements (Si, Ge, Sn, Pb) in forming directional, attractive interactions through their anisotropic charge distribution.
