Surreal Imagery

Surreal Imagery is a representational mode within visual and literary arts characterized by the juxtaposition of dream-like, subconscious, or irrational elements within a coherent, realistic framework, thereby distinguishing it from both purely fantastical and naturalistic imagery through its deliberate fusion of the uncanny with the ordinary to evoke psychological and symbolic meaning.
